Ron Dotson is primarily a self-taught artist who works in watercolor depicting wildlife, domestic animals, and western subjects. He started drawing as a child but ultimately followed a career in biology as a research fisheries biologist working on marine subjects. Avocations of hunting, hiking and fishing as well as photography all continued to feed Ron's interest in animals, habitat, and behavior. Sketching of his own animal companions and those of friends ultimately led to painting in watercolor in 2001. Ron has shown and sold his work in numerous shows in western states for the past dozen years. In addition, Ron is happy to do commission work of your pet or animal companion.
